Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm arrives on Mobile, but without controller support and super-widescreen

NARUTO: Ultimate Ninja STORM arrives on Android and iOS, but with some areas that could be improved.

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm, a game originally released for PlayStation 3 in 2008, has just arrived on Android and iOS. The game is paid and offline, and it is being sold for R$ 49.90.

The launch was met with great anticipation by mobile players, with Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm proving to be a lightweight game for current smartphones. The game ran on our POCO F3 extremely smoothly, without even heating up the device on high graphic settings. However, not everything is perfect.

How does Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm perform on Android?

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm on Android requires a device with at least 4 GB of RAM. The game itself is lightweight and runs well on the vast majority of current smartphones. Mid-range phones, for instance, won’t even heat up while running the game.

On Android, as well as on iOS, the game supports achievements for Google Play Games and Game Center, respectively.

No Portuguese language support

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm is the same as the one released for PlayStation 3 in 2008, exactly the same. There are no changes, not even in the language options.

Ultimate Ninja Storm only offers English and Spanish languages, and based on Bandai Namco’s history, there are no plans for a Portuguese release.

Absence of controller support

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm does not have any controller support. In our tests, when connecting an Xbox One controller, nothing worked except for the button to exit the game.

It’s really a shame, as this type of game is much better played with a controller. There are many reflex-based challenges that can be difficult to complete with on-screen controls.

No support for super-widescreen

Most modern smartphones have super-widescreen displays, between 20:9 and 21:9.

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm for Android and iOS is only in 16:9 format, which means there are two large black bars on the sides of the screen.

You might be thinking that it’s possible to configure the controls to the sides, which would be great for improving the game’s visibility, right? But no! Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm for mobile has a simple configuration and does not allow changing the control positions.
