The second testing stage will support more than 20,000 simultaneous players, feature a new 1v1 game mode, and include new map and gameplay configurations.
El Hero, the Battle Royale conceived by Rodrigo “El Gato,” has officially announced the start of its second phase of community testing, launching the closed beta version of the title. Developed by Moonite Games, the new phase of the game will begin this Friday (18th) and will continue until the official release, scheduled for early 2025. Additionally, the game will now be available for download through the Play Store and the App Store.
With the beta’s arrival, El Hero will offer new additions and experiences for the public. The title will feature a new game mode, the 1v1 mode. In this mode, players can challenge each other on a smaller map and battle one-on-one. The game will now include emojis and reactions, a bicycle as a vehicle for mobility, a new defense mechanic with a “ramp,” new physical spaces on the map such as buildings and houses, and a configuration to enable damage indication on barricades and ramps.
Other modifications and fixes have also been implemented in the game, including a training area, a lobby area, mobile device optimization, and more.
Rodrigo “El Gato,” the creator of the Battle Royale, commented on the importance of launching the new testing phase just a few months after the alpha: “Our game is made for the community; that is our main pillar. During the alpha testing phase, the public engaged with our content and provided us with valuable feedback to improve the game, allowing us to deliver a beta quickly. We know it’s still a testing phase, and there’s still much to develop and improve, but we are moving towards an official release more and more,” said Rodrigo “El Gato.”
During the 2024 Brazil Game Show, one of the largest gaming fairs in the world, attendees were able to visit the El Hero booth and experience the beta phase firsthand. The game’s booth at the event received over 5,000 visitors and hosted various activations with major names from the Brazilian mobile gaming scene, including the launch of a skin for Luva de Pedreiro.
Increased player capacity
In the beta testing phase, 25,000 players will have the opportunity to test El Hero and its updates and changes made during the alpha. The beta launch will support 2000% more players than the first testing version, which had access for 1,200 users.
Access keys for the game’s beta were distributed through public raffles on social media and the official sale of in-game boxes, which, in addition to offering cosmetics like weapon skins, character skins, and exclusive emblems, also gave players the chance to obtain an access key for the closed alpha or beta testing periods.
