Acclaimed as one of the best “reverse” horror games, Carrion will finally arrive on mobile devices. Developed by Phobia Game Studio and published by Devolver Digital, the game will be released for Android and iOS on October 31, 2024. Pre-registration is now available on the Google Play and App Store, allowing players to secure early access to the title.
In Carrion, the player takes control of an amorphous creature that escapes from a lab, spreading chaos and revenge against those who imprisoned it. The narrative subverts the traditional logic of horror games by putting the player in the role of the monster. As it devours its captors, the creature grows, evolves, and gains new abilities, making its escape even more destructive. The pixel art style and dynamic gameplay have earned the game numerous awards, such as the EuroGamer Editor’s Choice Award at E3 2019 and Best Indie Game at the Digital Dragon Indie Showcase in 2018.
The mobile version of Carrion will allow players to test the beginning of the game for free, with the option to purchase the full version along with the DLCs. Unlike many mobile games, Carrion will have no microtransactions, ensuring a complete experience without interruptions.
The game, already available for PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC, promises to bring its entire creepy and immersive atmosphere to smartphones, allowing players to embody the terrifying creature anywhere.
